Tesla FSD (Supervised) officially approved in Slovakia: the ninth EU country, rollout begins soon
Slovakia's Ministry of Transport has recognised the Dutch approval for Tesla FSD (Supervised), and Tesla Europe says the rollout begins soon. Slovakia becomes the ninth EU country with the system.

Good news for Tesla drivers in Slovakia. Tesla Europe posted on X yesterday: "Now approved in Slovakia. Rollout begins soon." The announcement follows the official recognition of Tesla FSD (Supervised) by Slovakia's Ministry of Transport, a step we reported was coming nine days ago.
What Slovakia approved
The ministry recognised the provisional type approval issued in April by the Dutch authority RDW. That means drivers can use the system on Slovak roads. Reuters also picked up the news.
FSD (Supervised), which Tesla now calls Tesla Assisted Driving in Europe, can accelerate, brake, steer, change lanes, handle intersections and react to traffic lights and signs, both in town and on the motorway. It relies on cameras and neural networks.
What the minister said
"I'm glad that, when it comes to modern transport technology, Slovakia is not falling behind," said transport minister Jozef Ráž. He stressed that road safety is a priority and that he supports innovations that improve it. The driver stays fully responsible, and the system constantly monitors their attention.
The ninth EU country
Slovakia joins the Netherlands, Lithuania, Estonia, Denmark, Belgium, Slovenia, Czechia and Croatia. Tesla has not yet given an exact activation date. In other countries, owners accepted a user agreement, watched a mandatory instruction video and passed a short quiz. What it means for drivers
Every new country adds weight to the case for EU-wide approval, with a decision expected in December at the earliest and Germany now in support. Romania has not yet recognised the Dutch approval; our guide to FSD (Supervised) in Europe and Romania explains where things stand.
